MOMS Club of Leesburg-North, VA

Community Service

Joining Our Chapter

MOMS Club® International requires each local chapter to do a minimum of one community service project per year. The project must focus on children in some way.

Our chapter traditionally walks in the March of Dimes' March for Babies each spring. However, we do many more projects based on member interest. Here are some recent examples:

  • On the anniversary of September 11th, chapter members baked treats and dropped them off to local Leesburg fire and emergency personnel as a thank-you for all they do and a remembrance of the tragedies that took place on September 11, 2001.
  • When we heard that Loudoun County's Head Start program was in need of supplies, we donated chapter funds to purchase 100 each of pencils, crayons, blunt scissors, colored pencils, and glue sticks. In addition, some chapter members purchased and donated their own school supplies.
  • In October, we're dressing our kids up in their Halloween costumes and taking them to Morningside House, an assisted living and dementia facility for senior citizens in Leesburg. Our kids will bring the residents the smiles and cheer that only adorable small children can offer!
  • Our chapter contributes to the MOMS Club International Mother-to-Mother fund, a MOMS Club® charity that helps members with devastating financial and natural disasters.
